美国海岸警卫队“门罗”号巡逻舰官兵缴获了超过2万磅（约9吨）的可卡因，这是近18年来在海上截获规模最大的一批毒品。

通过“太平洋蝰蛇”行动（Operation Pacific Viper），美国海岸警卫队加速推进东太平洋的反毒品行动，在打击贩毒恐怖分子方面取得了具有历史意义的成果。
